In and Around the Garden in a Quiet Cambridge Neighborhood
Cambridge is essentially a city. It is buoyed by industry, service and most recently, science. But there are pockets here, whole neighborhoods that honor the sunflower, the foxglove, the fruit tree and the grapevine by making space for them in small back yards and along the sides of triple deckers. Will and Liz have managed to create the best of both worlds in this small city. Their children get to play in their father's huge vegetable garden and have the exquisite luck to grow up in an urban neighborhood but to know the pleasure of plucking a ripe raspberry off the tangle of bushes in their own yard. They are growing up barefoot where other kids wear shoes and know the joys of making friends with snails. A family portrait session in the garden made perfect sense.
