Larz Anderson Park extended Family Portrait Session

Hills, sunlight and tall grasses served as the back drop for this session with this lovely extended family. Marilyn, mother and grandmother to the rest of this crew, picked this spot because she used to go here as a young girl so it holds special meaning to her. This was the first time I had been to Larz Anderson Park and although it is owned by Brookline I made my way there through Jamaica Plain because it is that expansive.I loved watching these women tend to and interact with the boys, articulating with their hugs and reminders what a powerful force family is in the experience of childhood.I was happy to finish this portrait session with the chance to frame the faces of these gorgeous women in the soft tangle of light green Willow tree branches.

* I am happy to announce that since these portraits were taken the newest addition to the family has been born.Welcome baby Luna!
